WE DID IT! After last Sunday, our church has given just over $56,000 in order to reach our goal of $46,000!

Now, let’s take a moment and thank God for his kindness and generosity. And then, let’s get to work and have some fun. Our goal is to launch in the new building on the first Sunday of Advent (November 27th). Mark it in your calendar, circle it, start it, underline it, and let’s blow the roof off the church in worship and make sure the whole neighborhood hears us exalt Jesus as King.

That means that we are going to have 4 Saturday workdays as a church before we launch publicly there: 10/29, 11/5, 11/12 and 11/19. We need all hands on deck and for you to make whatever Saturdays you can to help transform this place from a building to a home! We will have four teams and we want you to sign-up right here:

This next month truly has the capacity to be one of the best team building months for our church. Like theologians have noted, “Israel was never happier than when they were building the tabernacle together.” Nothing knits a team together and takes a group to the next level better than rolling up our sleeves, working shoulder-to-shoulder and pursuing a common goal together. It’s entirely possible that come November 27th, we enter that church building as a team with relational bonds twice as tough as today. But that requires all-hands-on-deck and everybody showing up to do what they can from now until launch day.

It’s important to know that this will be a long process, and this place will feel like home with incremental repairs and key moments in the future. We are now firmly in the realm of “planting our grandchildren’s church” and it’s really important to being thinking two or three generations deep. Nothing that can be accomplished in a day is worth doing. Start thinking about this building in 5 years or 50 years and, as you train your imagination to think of this not as your church but as your grandchildren’s church, this will help you think of our church in 5 years or 50 years. Let’s build this thing for the long haul!

Lastly, every dollar that is given to the building fund from here on out will go directly to making this building into a home. So even though we are through the front door, we need the sweat, blood and dollars to make this place feel like home.
