HOW DO WE PRACTICE SCRIPTURE?
We encourage our church to practice the Scriptures through this Bible reading plan, year after year. We love this plan because it comes with a free, easy-to-use phone app and it also pairs the Bible readings with outstanding videos from The Bible Project.
If you choose to engage with this reading plan, then you will be immersed in the same scriptures, stories, poems and questions as other church members every week, and this means that our community will always have a shared, ongoing dialogue that you can tap into with anybody (“What’d you think about that Psalm? Did you understand that story?”) And, of course, this creates church-wide accountability for those who desire it.
But the most effective strategy that Frontier Church has for helping you integrate this practice into your life is Fighter Groups. There is nothing more helpful than committing to a small group of people following Jesus together, and to ask and listen to how others are being formed by the Scriptures. Our Fighter Group leaders will be coached to help lead their Fighter Groups with five questions: What has God been teaching you in the scriptures? In solitude? In sabbath? In self-denial? In the seasons?
